Caring for Your Vision
Caring for
your vision
When living with wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD), it's important to stay on track with your treatment plan and monitor your vision for changes between appointments. Take the following steps to create your own vision care routine.
1. Stay on track with your treatment plan
Wet AMD is a chronic condition, but it may be managed with regular treatment.
Use these tips to start a vision care routine and be best prepared for your appointments.

Build a support network. This includes loved ones, your eye care team, low-vision specialists, and anyone else who helps and encourages you.

Prepare for your doctor's appointments. Appointments are a great time to get answers. Not sure what to ask? Use the BEOVU Discussion Guide to get started.

Create a vision journal. Keep your appointments, notes, vision changes, and questions for your doctor all in one place. Bring this to every appointment.
Keep up with your scheduled appointments and follow your doctor's advice.
2. Monitor your vision for changes
Use an Amsler Grid to check your vision at least once a week. By making this part of your routine, you can alert your doctor if you notice any vision changes.
